If you like inspirational movies based on true stories, you won't want to miss "Dolphin Tale." "It is the best family film to come in a decade," said Rick Bentley, of the Dallas Morning News. It was made by Warner Brothers in 2011. In this movie, a boy named Sawyer found an injured Dolphin. This dolphin was rescued, and taken to a marine hospital where she received the name "Winter." Sadly, Winter's injuries caused her to lose her tail. With the help with a couple of professionals, Winter received an artificial tail that gave her a second chance of life. The acting cast included Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson, and Morgan Freeman. Brandon Smith, of Mrs. Derkacz's class said, "the actors and actresses did an excellent job of showing how they needed to take care of the dolphin. The visual effects were terrific. The movie's message was, keep trying! Don't ever give up." Brandon recommends this movie to his mom and anyone that loves animals.
Makayla Willis - Thumbelina
If you like funny movies, then you will love Thumbelina. Do you like animated comedies? If so, this is a movie you and many others would enjoy. Critics say it is " A magical adventure. It is enchanting and imaginative," said Kevin Thomas, from the L.A. Times. Thumbelina was written by a Danish novelist named Hans Christian Anderson in Coppenhagen, Denmark in the year of 1835. This movie adaptation was done by screen writer and producer, Don Bluth in 1994. In this movie, a girl is born after her mother planted a seed in a flower pot. The girl was different. She found someone small like her and they fell in love, got married, and lived happily ever after. The actors and actresses include: Jodi Benson as Thumbelina, Gary Imhoff as Prince Carnelius, Charo as the toad's mother, and Gilbert Gottfried as Mr. Beetle. In my opinion, the acting was magnificent. I liked when the beetle and Thumbelina were singing. Thumbelina held the high notes and the beetle held the low notes. Many people wanted to marry her- a toad, a beetle, and a mole. But her true love found her before she married the mole. The movie's message was "never give up on your true love!" I do recommend this movie, and I believe the movie can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Overall, I give the movie five out of five stars. So enjoy this movie, and have fun!
